FLAPJACK & FLANNEL FESTIVAL TO TAKE A YEAR OFF,
RETURNS IN OCTOBER 2027
The hiatus is the result of scheduling conflicts among key collaborators involved in producing the festival,
and an intentional reset to bring the event back in a stronger form. After years of hosting the festival in
mid-November, the organizing team has heard consistently from attendees that late-season Northern
Michigan weather can be a barrier to attendance and enjoyment. The move to early-to-mid October is
designed to deliver the full Flapjack & Flannel experience — peak fall color, comfortable outdoor
temperatures, and that quintessential Northern Michigan autumn atmosphere — without the
unpredictability of a November date.
